1 September 2014 – Labor Day

It’s been way too long since I’ve sat down to write in my journal. Last week was pretty intense. Last Saturday I drove an hour down to Stuart to get blood work done needed for a CT scan later in the week. It was the only lab available on Saturday and I needed the results by Wednesday. The tech was great and got me with the first try. That’s unusual after going through chemo so I was very happy!

Aaron and I then met my parents downtown for a nice meal at the noodle bowl restaurant. I had a wonderful udon noodle bowl with pork, fish cakes, tofu and tons of vegetables. Very soothing and nutritious! It was great to spend some with all of them. Aaron is really becoming an amazing young man.

After lunch Aaron and I drove back to Vero to participate in a photoshoot for Vero Home, Life & Design magazine. We met up at the dog park to have our photo taken with our pets. Everyone was well behaved and I we got some great shots. I hadn’t seen most of the team since my surgery. It was great to be there and see everyone even though it was brief and we were busy wrangling our dogs. Aaron was a big help with Macchiato.

Monday was Labor Day. I spent most of the day pulling together details for Aaron’s Bar Mitzvah. In the late afternoon Meier and I went for a nice walk along the beach. We had some great conversation. I am so grateful for having two amazing sons.
