18 September 2014 – Wynwood Gallery Walk

After treatment today I grabbed a Cafe con Leche at Versailles and drove over to the Wynwood Art District to see some friends and do some gallery hopping. I hadn’t been down to Wynwood in a long time so I was pretty excited. It was great to see some friends in my adopted city. While I enjoy time alone it’s also nice to catch up with friends I haven’t seen in a while.

After cruising the galleries for a while I worked up a healthy appetite. I dropped in to Wynwood Kitchen & Bar to enjoy some fresh food while being surrounded by some great street art. I’ve had the scallops there before and they were calling out to me.

That night I finally got to see the Perez Art Museum Miami. Annabel and I have been wanted to check it out for months but just haven’t been able to get there. The space is amazing and situated right on the bay. That night was the opening for the new Beatriz Milhazes exhibition. Her work is wonderful, full of bright colors, organic patterns and lots of layers. A great way to wrap up the day!
